Sport event MareMonti edition 2012

The half marathon for the year 2012 MareMonti becomes a major sporting event which includes, in addition to the race, a conference and moments dedicated to the Mediterranean diet. MareMonti begins Friday, February 3 at 10am with a show of typical agro-food products set up in Piazza Lauro in Sorrento, which will take place during the preparations for the race. Saturday, February 4 at 5pm will be held in the Council Room of the City of Sorrento on the conference “The Mediterranean diet and sports, a winning choice” that will have as speakers Alfonso Siani and Gianvincenzo Barba, doctors at the CNR Avellino - Institute of Food Science, Stefano Pisani, mayor of Pollica, and Stefano Baldini, the winner of olympic marathon in Athens in 2004 races. The conference will conclude with a pasta party in Piazza Lauro.
In the heart of the race will be Sunday, February 5, when at 7am athletes will gather MareMonti Castellammare in the New Baths of Stabiae to leave at 9am from Castellammare to Sorrento, Piazza Lauro. Arrival expected at around 11.30am. A triumph in the twelfth edition Yassine Kabbouri were among males and Deborah Toniolo among women.

The exhibition “Canta a Surriento” at Villa Fiorentino

The exhibition, which boasts the collaboration of Radio Rai, proposing an exhibition offers a valuable collection of musical instruments donated by Enrico Salierno to Sorrento and its local Association marquetry. Also on display is memorabilia courtesy of the family of Antonio De Lizza, author of famous tarantella. Have been set up rooms for Sergio Bruni, Salve d’Esposito, the song “Torna a Surriento”, Saltovar, Antonino De Lizza and Enrico Salierno, who had in their lives love and passion for music and Sorrento. You can listen to hits through 4 jukebox such as Back to Surriento, Anema e core and the songs of Sergio Bruni. The exhibition is organized by the Sorrento Foundation, in collaboration with the City of Sorrento, and is curated by the Historical Archives of the Neapolitan Song. The sets were produced by the RAI Center of Naples. The event will be open to the public until March 4, Monday to Friday from 10 a.m to 1 p.m. and from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m., Saturdays and Sundays from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.. Admission is free.

Sorrento, one of the most famous tourist city, comes to new ways of promoting the area with the Sorrento Winter Midi Card, a personal card with which the visitor can have access to discounts and benefits of various kinds, including the special price of hotel rooms and the reduction of price of the taxi ride.

The card is free and you can request it in Federalberghi Sorrento hotels, in Sorrento Foundation, in museums or in the Info Point-Ask me of the Sorrento City. The intent is to improve tourist accommodation involving all sectors concerned with discounts and benefits for those who want to choose the ideal holiday in Sorrento. The card is nominal and only needs to fill out a form to request that uses the name of the owner to the card number. Meeting to Christmas with music, art and food at Suoni Di Vini 2011

After the great success of the first edition, the second edition of Suoni Di Vini (Sounds Of Wine) is scheduled for 7 to 10 December 2011 with four concerts: December 7 Peppe Servillo and the Solis String Quartet performing “Spassiunatamente”, 8 Gianmaria Testa in “Vitamia”, 9 the Mauro Palmas Trio with special guest Elena Ledda in “Il colore del Maestrale”, the 10 Claudio Fabi in “Hermetico”. This will present a preview of a new musical project with which are been cited texts by great poets and writers read by contemporary artists on the meaning of existence that Claudio Fabi as a talent-scout has discovered over the years, including Gianna Nannini, Teresa De Sio, Fabio Concato, to name a few.

The new album by Claudio Fabi music will be launched in January 2012, his first outing but absolute is scheduled on December 10 as the closing concert of Suoni Di Vini event to be held in the Church, Cloister and Institute St. Paul Sorrento. In addition, the festival, which falls in the provision of demonstrations and events M’illumino D’Inverno for the Christmas period Sorrento, also plans, in addition to concerts, art exhibitions and tastings.

There are four exhibitions in the program. The man who changed the world, the great, the man who came from far away are just some of the definitions used for the Blessed John Paul II. Art in the doors of Sorrento

“Art in the doors of Sorrento,” was the title of the particular artistic initiative to be held in Sorrento, Italy, along the course from August 13 to September 3. The event, designed by Luigi Gargiulo representative of a group of artists from Sorrento, was produced in collaboration with the municipal administration headed by Mayor of Sorrento Giuseppe Cuomo, led by the Tourism by Gaetano Milano and Youth Forum of the Sorrento Town Council represented by Giuseppe Reale. “Art, beauty and truth” al the Museum Correale

The Museum Correale of Sorrento hosts for the first time a singular event of great artistic and cultural significance. It is a two-day interpretation of art, beauty and truth as a tool to create a healthy pursuit of beauty and goodness. The two-day entitled “Arte, bellezza e verità, tre antidoti contro le dipendenze del nichilismo” (Art, beauty and truth, three antidotes against nihilism dependencies), which will be held on the premises and in the garden of the Museum Correale on 3 and September 10, planning a cultural meeting, concert, guided tours of the museum and tasting of typical local products, all for free. The event, organized under the sponsorship of the Clinical Research Center Ecolab of Alessandro Bifulco, is sponsored by the city of Sorrento, the Catholic Alliance and the Social Plan of Naples area 13.

Music of Blue Wave at Marianiello Caffè

This Friday at Marianiello Caffè, Piano di Sorrento, at 9 pm, the musical event is the Blue Wave. Anthony Rivieccio, voice and guitar, Daniele Di Gennaro, guitar, Vincenzo Barone Lumaga, bass, and Joy Squires, battery, offering a concert of music of the Mississippi and Rock and Roll rhythms.
